de have received a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong in which it is stated that the University Council desires the Secretary of State to accent respon- sibility for future staff appointuents.
The Governor goes on to say that a lecturer and tutor in snglish is urgently required, to assume duty in Hong Kong in September, and that full particulara of the conditions of service can be obtained from you. He adds that some slight amendments of these conditions were communicated to you by the mail leaving Hong Kong on the 16th of May.
